On the run, a young man recovering from a devastating car accident, struggles to regain his memory as attempts are made on his life.

That’s the tagline for Santa Lorena Productions’ Tomorrow Waits For No One, a new webseries, going into production this spring.

Chased by two thugs, Marcus Lazano is run over by Frank Cain's car and awakens in the hospital with amnesia. Romantic sparks fly between Det. Cole Washington and Marcus, as the detective investigates the “missing persons in reverse” case. Frank is the only one who knows Marcus's identity (or is he?) but keeps mum as a fortune may be up for the taking.

Tomorrow Waits For No One is the brainchild of Marcello Lanfranchi, who began writing the story as a text narrative he posted on the internet a decade ago. “We shot the pilot episode for $800 a few years back, using borrowed equipment and the efforts of nearly 40 people, only about three or four -- not including myself -- who'd had any prior filmmaking experience,” explained Lanfranchi. “We expect to spend at least ten times that to re-shoot the pilot and Episode 2.” They’re also raising money to increase their budget and still have some left over to begin Episode 3.

The project took a significant step forward last month when Santa Lorena Productions signed a contract with Down Poor Pictures to produce the first two episodes. Jack Eagen, president of Down Poor, stated that they are focusing much of their attention on the project, though they’re also working on other films. “The timing was right,” said Eagen. “We have one project wrapping and another beginning in a couple of months.”

The crew is currently honing their budget and planning a productions schedule, explained assistant director Bailey Townley. “So much groundwork has been laid, but the excitement is about to begin.” a casting call for 24 ethically diverse roles went out this week.

Production manager David Roat said that pre-production is moving along smoothly. “We’ve already received an offer to become the first scripted series on a site that get’s 2.7 million unique visitors each month,” he pointed out.

“I’m really excited to be in the show again,” stated Hara Kahn, reprises her role as Dr. Margaret Park. “We’re hoping to begin shooting in May.” Kahn will be joined by Beth Sweet and Monty McIntire, who will also reprise their roles, Gail Renwick, RN, and Officer Lee Bollinger, respectively.

To realize this goal, they’ve begun to seek donations from friends and family. “Some money has already been squirreled away, but we want to do this with much higher production values than the pilot had,” Lanfranchi said.
